There has been a school shooting in the US, reported in the media. The alleged killer was someone who decided that they were not the gender that they were born with. [1] I can’t help noticing, albeit anecdotally, that there seem to be quite a lot of “trans” people involved in mass shootings. In fact this should not surprise anyone. “Being trans” is associated with higher than average incidence of mental illness. I would imagine that school shootings are also statistically associated with mental illness.
I’m not interested in trying to establish a statistical correlation between “being trans” and committing mass murder. To do so would be hard given that lack of hard data. Apparently US police do not record transgender status. What I find interesting is how the liberal mainstream media are at such pains to deny any correlation, (despite also lacking data). Let’s consider some examples.
1. This is a Le Monde International article about the latest shooting. [2] I am struck by a few things. “The shooter, a trans woman (assigned male at birth but identifying as female), …” Notice, the full acceptance of and promotion of the bizarre concept that gender is “assigned at birth”. The article then continues to politely and sensitively refer to the alleged murderer of two children using their preferred pronoun, “She…”. Actually, the alleged murderer was male. This is a common feature of mainstream media reporting on events of this kind. Despite the bloodied corpses of two totally innocent children, aged 8 and 10, the paper is careful to respectfully use the “chosen pronoun” of their alleged murderer. The cruel and senseless deaths fade into the background as the assertion of trans ideology assumes its rightful place as the lead point of the article. Nothing like getting their priorities right. The point is, for the liberal cult movement transgender ideology is an absolute. The deaths of innocent children, while undesirable, is only relatively bad. Finally, is it just me, but, in the context, doesn’t this line, “She had three different weapons, all of which were purchased legally….” (‘She’ is actually he), sound like they are trying to minimize this crime? “She” had bought weapons legally, so not all that bad..
2. US magazine Newsweek goes head to head with “conservative commentators” who are trying to link this shooting to “trans” people and who are talking about a pattern. [3] They address comments by a “right-wing” commentator on X who apparently listed 6 shootings carried out by “trans” people. Newsweek claims that only 3 of these are validly attributable to “trans” people. This claim seems arguable. In one of the contested by Newsweek cases the suggestion of “trans” identify is based on screenshots from the perpetrator’s social media accounts, [4], and in another the suspect’s own lawyers indicated that their client identified as “non-binary”. [5] But, as I say, my point is not to argue for a correlation. I am just observing how hard Newsweek is trying to deny any correlation. That shows how keen they are to promote the ideology. But; that is not enough for Newsweek. They inform their readers that: “However, data shows that mass shootings by transgender individuals are rare and the vast majority of perpetrators are cisgender men.”. Stop; just think about how unscientific this is. “Trans” people make up what tiny fraction of the overall population? The issue is the relative degree of involvement in mass shootings. This is really statistics at pre-GCSE (middle-school) level. Finally; notice the sheer hostility to “cisgender men”. I am not absolutely sure what “cisgender men” means, but I think it means normal men. The trans ideology is a virulent and violent attack on normalcy and on men in particular.
3. While researching this post I came across a Reuters article from 2023 on the same theme [6]. Like the Newsweek article, it is at pains to argue against any link between “trans” and mass shootings. Just like the Newsweek article it helpfully explains what “trans” is; “Cisgender refers to people who identify as the sex assigned to them at birth, while transgender is an umbrella term for those who do not, and non-binary is for those who do not identify exclusively as a man or woman, according to the Human Rights Campaign “. Obviously “educating” their readers is something Reuters takes seriously. The Reuters piece is a “fact-checking” piece. They are “fact checking” the claim of an association between “trans” and mass shootings. “Fact-checking” is the liberal cult movement’s speak for the promotion of their bizarre ideologies. Reuters, like Newsweek, also decides that “Missing context. Most mass shootings or violent gun attacks in the U.S. carried are out by cisgender men.” Despite some evidence in the article that they understand that the statistical point is about the relative proportions of “trans” people in the population and with involvement in mass shootings, they can’t help coming to the main conclusion: the problem lies with “cisgender men”.
What I am struck by is how reason has been surrendered here. Simple reasoning would expect, at least to the extent that it would be the obvious hypothesis, that there would be a statistical link between “trans” and mass shootings given the obvious and well-publicised link between “mental illness” and “trans”. But the key drive of the liberals is to bypass the obvious and deny it as a possibility. Not content with that, they aim for the main target; normalcy. This is some kind of attack on normal society. It is akin to an autoimmune disease, where the body’s immune system attacks itself. Why Western society is gripped, at just this point, by this disease, is an interesting question.
(I think the background philosophical movement here is post-modern deconstructionism – the idea that meaning is subjective and bestowed on something by context, the idea that meaning is relative, contingent and unstable. Even values. In which case gender is essentially how you perceive it to be. But; I have not read Derrida and I am just guessing really about deconstructionism. Nor; would such a link, if established, explain the destructive movement of destroying normalcy, in terms of power and motivation, that is, its politics).
