According to Gallup polling most Ukrainians want a negotiated end to the war. 69%. Only 24% want to fight on “until Ukraine wins”. [1] This poll was reported in August. The trajectory for negotiation is steadily up and for “end by winning” steadily down, so probably as of now, more than 70% are ready for a negotiated solution. Ukrainians are not stupid people. They know that “negotiation” means they will have to give up something, including, probably the aspiration to join NATO, (which, incidentally, they mostly didn’t want anyway before the US and EU led 2014 coup [2]), and Donbas.
Meanwhile, Zelensky, unelected, and not accountable to his population, is drumming up support for long-range fires and egging on the Europeans to steal the Russian money frozen in Europe, so he can, maybe, keep this going for a while longer. And Starmer is all smiles as he enthusiastically supports all this, the long-range fires and the theft of the Russian assets, and proudly declares that Putin’s “ludicrous demands” to take land are a “non-starter”.
Weird.
